The role is a key part of the day to day running and success of a busy insolvency team.  You will be working alongside colleagues locally and nationally working to deadlines and managing conflicting priorities so teamwork and good communication are essential.  Work is to be completed to a high degree of accuracy and submitted in accordance with internal and external policies and guidelines

A look into the role

Here are some things you can expect from this Bankruptcy Administrator role.

  • Making quality second nature.  This means doing what’s right even when no one’s looking. The work that you will do has a major impact on our clients and our firm. We pride ourselves on the high-level standards we have for the work that we do.  You will be expected to respond to correspondence promptly and meet deadlines.  Training and support will be provided on the job alongside appropriate workshops to enable to achieve the standards required.
  • Own your own work. You will be part of a team where the key element of the role is to progress cases and ensure statutory requirements are met.  Following training you will be responsible for all aspects of maintaining and progressing a portfolio of cases. You will ensure that all compliance matters are dealt with and case files are accurate and up to date..
  • Be a part of a team. You will be part of a team in Bristol responsible for a varied caseload, many of whom have many years experience and are able to provide full training and support.  You will also work with teams across the regions. Team work is an important part of the role
  • Take responsibility. You will ultimately be responsible for a portfolio of cases with support from managers.  You will, therefore, need to be self-motivated and have good time management and organisation skills.  You will be expected to take ownership of what you do, keeping job and people managers advised on progress and any problems.
  • Build your brand. The opportunity is there for you to develop both technical and personal skills.  You will collaborate with other teams, agents, and solicitors, you will learn to deal with challenging situations, and you will develop strong technical knowledge.  Things change all the time, statutory requirements, policies, situations.  You need to have the flexibility to adapt quickly and remain professional.

Joining us as a Bankruptcy Administrator the minimum criteria you’ll need is GCSE’s or equivalent, It would also be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • A Level (or equivalent)
  • Insolvency knowledge or previous experience
  • Relevant professional qualifications
  • Knowledge of IPS and Unit 4
  • Word /Excel experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
