An exciting opportunity to join an indepedent placement agent and strategic advisory firm as Head of Operations. 

Core role responsibilities:

Lead on all operational, compliance and finance functions reporting into the Founding Partners. The role will be supported from an administrative perspective by the Office Manager:

Compliance

  • Overseeing and managing outsourced Compliance Consultant and managing all aspects of FCA requirements and reporting
  • Overseeing and managing outsourced Tied Agent relationship and the firm's European entity to ensure compliance with European/MIFID regulation
  • Working with sales team and clients on compliance matters and approved marketing materials across different jurisdictions

Finance

  • Responsible for all invoicing and oversight of company accounts, working with accountants on quarterly and year-end accounts
  • Responsible for payroll, expenses, pensions and interaction with bank
  • Updating and evolving the business model and input into strategic growth of the firm e.g. forecasting and funding plans for growth  

Operations

  • Overseeing and assisting outsource IT support and office infrastructure
  • Overseeing employment contracts, negotiation, and onboarding of new staff
  • Responsible for oversight and negotiations of insurance contracts
  • Oversight and negotiations of counterparties, service providers and office premises

Other

  • Setting up European office and regulatory licenses
  • Structuring and implementing profitshare/staff equity participation
  • Provide strategic advice and growth plans, including competitor analysis, exit options, expansion into other markets/strategies

Qualifications and experience:

  • Held similar CFO/COO oversight role in financial sercives (ideally asset management) industry.
  • Relevant compliance experience of distributing alternative funds (preferably private market funds) in Europe
  • Understanding of private market fundraising
  • Experience with growing new businesses
  • Energy, get up and go, willingness to roll up sleeves and get stuck in to help a thriving, growing, busy new business

Location/Time:

2 days per week.
Flexible but ideally able to spend one day a week in London offices (W1) and remotely from home.
